The 4130 Subway Series is a monthly, exclusive BMX bike Ride founded in Los Angeles back in January of 2010. The ride starts in Hollywood and heads to Downtown L.A then back via the Redline Subway. The 4130 S.S. was created and is still hosted by The Mayor of Hollywood, who noticed a large void in the L.A. Bike Scene. Back in 2010 L.A. had many monthly group bike rides, but none were for us BMX’RS, mostly catered to “roadies” and “hipsters”. Also back in 2010 there were a few Exclusive BMX Rides around besides The 4130 S.S., but none had a fixed monthly schedule all year long. Back then we were lucky to get out on our bike’s a few times a year at best but The Subway Series changed all that! The ride quickly took off, like Greg Hill out of the gates at a main! There were 60+ BMX’RS at the 1st Ride January 9th in the middle of Winter!!

The 2nd Ride had 90+ BMX’RS showing up for the ride, including Old School BMX Legend and Hall of Famer, Greg Hill. What an honor! Another 90+ for the 3rd ride and a whopping 145+ BMX’RS for the April ride with group of Legends that would knock the #plates off any bike including Greg Hill, Stompin’ Stu Thompsen, Donnie Atherton, Todd Lyons, Robbie Rupe, Dennis Dain, among others!

The 4130 Subway Series has become the LARGEST BMX Monthly Group Ride in the World! The ride has become a monthly BMX ritual for the So. Cal BMX Culture. Chromies travel from all over Cali and sometimes from all over the country to be a part of this unique BMX experience in these mean streets. The 4130 Subway Series was created for both the average BMX’R and the Old and New School Pro to be able to get out once a month and ride with our BMX Community, while enjoying Los Angeles. The 4130 S.S.R. is for EVERYONE to enjoy and all who ride are down with The 4130 and can be considered a chromie!!

Over the past 4 years, The 4130 Subway Series BMX Ride has grown by leaps and hops with other 4130 sanctioned rides starting up. There are official chromie-organized, 4130 BMX rides in Las Vegas, Boston, Fall River, and Portland with Phoenix and Chicago looking to get on board! Locally The 4130 Subway Series has sparked lots of BMX group rides and has created a strong BMX Culture to network from… The Chromies!!

As far as looking forward is concerned, there is still a lot of track and ground to cover. The 4130 S.S. is working on a Full Feature Documentary to be released in late 2014 and looking for even more cities to invade and take over like a bunch of BMX Bandits!! The 4130 Subway Series welcomes everyone with a BMX heart and state of mind. No matter skill level, social status, age or gender, everyone who rides is a chromie and part of our #chromienation. ALL BMX’RS WELCOME!

“ALL ABOARD!!” ~The Mayor of Hollywood
